Biodanza!   Biodanza Rolando Toro System!   Biodanza Vital Development!  - what's the difference?

Biodanza was created in the late 1960's by Rolando Toro and spread from its South American birthplace around the world.  In 2003, Rolando established the International Biocentric Foundation Ltd (IBF) to co-ordinate Biodanza and the training of Biodanza teachers worldwide.  In 2007, some Biodanza training school directors set up the informal, independent Biodanza World Association (BWA).

In the UK, there are two teacher training bodies: IBF and BWA.  Long-established teachers, and new graduates from the 3 active IBF-recognised schools ( Dorset, Bristol, Edinburgh ) offer classes under the name Biodanza or Biodanza Rolando Toro System (sometimes abbreviated to Biodanza RTS or BiodanzaSRT).  Graduates from the 2 BWA-affiliated schools ( London, Brighton ) offer classes under the name Biodanza or Biodanza Vital Development.

The training syllabus and ethos of all these schools are similar, and all produce quality teachers.  You will be made welcome by any of them - whether they offer Biodanza, Biodanza Rolando Toro System, or Biodanza Vital Development.

If you have the luxury of being able to choose between several nearby Biodanza classes, go and try them all.  As in any type of personal development, it's not just where the facilitator trained or who with, but ultimately their own charisma and skill, and how you relate to them, that determines what you get out of a class.
